The Afghanistan Embassy told Supreme Court today that though it was unsure whether the situation in the country will get any better in 6 weeks, it was tentatively enough to get instructions from the new regime.
The new regime which was being referred to is the Terror organisation, Taliban.
Court asked counsel appearing for Afghanistan Embassy whether the situation in Afghanistan will be normal there any time soon.
This happened before a bench of Justice Vineet Saran and Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, who was hearing a plea filed by Embassy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan challenging an order of the Delhi High Court in an Arbitration matter and the Counsel for the Afghanistan Embassy sought an adjournment for 6 weeks.
"I am seeking 6 weeks My Lords," said the Counsel. "Will the situation be better off by then," bench asked. "No, but it should be enough to get instructions from the new regime," the Counsel.

What is the case about?
The Delhi High Court in a Arbitration matter had directed the Afghanistan Embassy to file affidavit of their assets on the date of the cause of action, date of the award as well as today in Form 16A Appendix E under Order XXI Rule 41(2) of the Code of Civil Procedure along with the documents mentioned therein within 30 days of the receipt of the notice.
The Counsel appearing for the Embassy today, sought an adjournment of six weeks in the matter.
While justifying the reason on seeking adjournment for only six weeks the counsel said, " at least, will be able to get instructions from new regime."
The Delhi HC had further directed the Embassy to disclose information about all the bank accounts, statements held with any bank in India, all the commercial ventures of the state in India, including state-owned airlines, companies, undertakings etc.
