Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju on his visit to the Central Agency Section at the Supreme Court today said that we will weed out redundant files and digitise all records.
Rijiju tweeted, "In line with PM Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of Digital India we will weed out redundant files and digitise all records to ensure a paperless work culture."
"These are tones of legal documents of various Ministries & Agencies," Rijiju added.
Earlier, on March 12, 2016, the then Chief Justice of India, Justice Tirath Singh Thakur had inaugurated the Centre For Information Technology of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad for the purpose of digitization of the High Court records.
Whereas, the official account of Rijiju tweeted, "Moving towards Digital India with the vision of PM Narendra Modi Ji to ensure a paperless work culture, we are moving forward to eliminate the redundant files and digitise all records."
Appreciating the statement of Rijiju, Advocate Vikram Hegde tweeted, "Welcome step no doubt. Digitization shifts these mountains of files from paper to data. For a real reduction of the mountain, the litigation policy of the Government has to change."
In addition to this AOR Charu Mathur tweeted, "Not just central agency but all matters must be digitized. Have high hopes with a young law minister, someone who is on same page on technological aspect of judicial work. Good wishes."
