While delivering an address today, Union Minister for Law and Justice, Kiren Rijiju said the timely delivery of justice is a priority of the Central Government.

Rijiju was speaking at the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of Advocates Chambers & Multi Level Parking, Allahabad High Court and Uttar Pradesh National Law University, Prayagraj.

Rijiju said,

"We believe that if we want to make or judicial system perfect then our target should be justice to the common man, distance between the common man and the justice has to be reduced as much as we can."

Rijiju in his speech further said, in the upcoming winter session of the parliament a Mediation bill will be introduced and the preparations for which are almost over.

"Government is taking new initiatives in the field of Arbitration and Mediation, we want to make India a destination for International Arbitration," Rijiju added.

During his speech he further said, "Until justice is far away from the common man, we cannot presume that our Country is accomplished."

This is not the first time that the Law Minister has thrusted on the need for making law accessible and free from delay and latches as well as making it accessible for the common people. At a virtual meet on the NAMO Virtual App, the Law Minister had pointed out that "Justice delayed is Justice denied".

Rijiju had also said the Government is wary of the pain of common people. "We will work in cohesion with the Judicial System to reduce the pain of those who suffer because of delay and latches," said Rijiju

“Justice delayed is Justice denied. For the common person, HC’s & SC seem far-fetched and that is why it has been our thrust to focus on delivery of Justice at the doorstep of Indians”

“It is essential that the Judiciary & Executive harmoniously work towards strengthening the Justice Delivery System," he had added

At an event organized by the Bar Council of India earlier on September 4, to felicitate the Chief Justice of India, N V Ramana, Law Minister had said, "The Government will not only strengthen the independence of judiciary but also provide support for the same."
