A letter has been written to the Chief Justice of India to release the report and recommendations made by the Committee constituted by the Supreme Court for a report on the three Farm Laws in the public domain.
In the letter written by one of the members of the Committee, Anil Ghanwat said, "As a member of the Committee, especially representing the farmers community, I am pained that the issue raised by the farmers aren't yet resolved and the agitation is continuing."
Ghawant further stated that no attention has been given to the report seeking the Supreme Court to release the report in the public domain for the implementation of recommendations made for peaceful resolution of the ongoing protest.
Earlier, the Supreme Court while staying the implementation of the three farm laws; Farmers’ produce trade and commerce (promotion and facilitation) act, 2020, Essential commodities (amendment) act, 2020; and Farmers (empowerment and protection) agreement on price assurance and farm services act, 2020, formulated a Committee for purposes of effectuating a Consultative dialogue between the stakeholders involved.
A bench of Chief Justice SA Bobde, Justices AS Bopanna & V. Ramasubramaniun was of the considered view that the staying of all the three farm laws for the present may assuage the hurt feelings of the farmers and encourage them to come to the negotiating table.
