Delhi Court grants bail to man accused of illegally entering NSA Ajit Doval's residence

The Patiala House Court yesterday granted bail to a man who allegedly, deliberately banged his car in the entrance gate of the residence of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in New Delhi. 

Additional Public Prosecutor Ravindra Kumar told the Court that the accused was not found to have any criminal antecedents and appeared to be a psycho, however he was no more required for investigation.

One, Shakti Dhar Reddy allegedly banged his car in the entrance gate of Doval's residence, however nobody was injured and the said accident was caused only because the car get out of control, the Court was told.

An FIR was lodged against Dhar under section 307 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984

ASJ Ajay Kumar Jain was further informed that Reddy had no criminal antecedents and had no mens rea to injure anybody or damage the property.

Reddy had been in custody since February 16, 2022.

Considering the nature of allegations, background of accused and the fact that he was in custody since a month and no more required for investigation, the Court granted bail to Dhar on his furnishing a personal bond in the sum of Rs. 50,000/- with one surety in the like amount.

Advocates Anubhav Tyagi, Kuldeep Jauhani, Karan Ahuja, Sagar Mehlawat and Hemant Kumar appeared for the accused Dhar.
