The Union Law Minister, Kiren Rijiju pointed out today that young Members of Parliament are being pulled down and told to stop debate in Parliament. The Law Minister, in his tweet quote tweeted on the remarks of Chief Justice of India, Justice NV Ramana's about the "the lack of quality debate" in Parliament, where he added that it is now in a "sorry state of affairs" where laws have a lot of ambiguity and the Courts are often left sans object and intent behind enacting of a law. "I can understand the deep concern of the Hon'ble Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramanna about the lack of quality debate in Parliament. When I first entered Parliament, I learnt a lot from the seniors. Now, young MPs are being told to stop Parliament debate!" - Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju
The Minister further added that it has been shocking to witness "chest-thumping" by opposition MP's who openly boast that they blocked and stopped the Parliament session. "They behaved very rudely, resorted to physical force and used unparliamentary language, degrading the status of 'Temple of Democracy'." - Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju Further, the Hon'ble Law Minister pointed out in his tweets that this conduct of the MP's in the opposition only depicts the mentality of the leadership who think that only they have the divine & dynastic right to rule in India. "But people of India are wise. Now, those people will be authorized to serve India who's purpose in life is service to the nation & mankind," he added.
Though the opposition MP's have been staging protests in the Parliament since the beginning of the monsoon session, CCTV footage of ruckus and vandalism that took place in Rajya Sabha last week went viral where the opposition MPs were seen shoving with marshals in the Upper House.
Chief Justice NV Ramana had earlier stated that parliamentary debates after independence were very illuminating and that the fact there is a lot of litigation, reflects on the absence of quality of debates which are taking place in the parliament.
