Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri of the Delhi High Court on Thursday reserved orders on the bail application filed by Ambience Group promoter Raj Singh Gehlot. The Court was hearing the plea filed by Gehlot relating to certain loans granted by a consortium of banks for the construction of Ambience Hotel at Shahdara, Delhi.
Sr. Adv. A.M.Singhvi appearing for Gehlot argued on the point of validity of twin conditions under Section 45 Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) vis a vis the right of an accused enshrined under Articles 14, 19, 21 and other legal issues.
Arguments were addressed on merits as well as other legal issues involving due process of law, procedure established by law and anomalies under the PMLA.
Adv. Zoheb Hussain appeared on behalf of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and opposed the plea for bail moved by Gehlot.
