The Supreme Court has confirmed bail to a doctor from Indore accused of possessing fake Remdesivir injections - in a plea challenging the order of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
A divisional bench of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice BV Nagarathna noted on the matter that the court has already granted bail to the doctor and that he was arrested at the instance of another accused, therefore nothing persists at this stage with respect to his bail plea.
The counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that only a sum of around Rs. 1200 was found on the petitioner and that he indeed has no relation with the case.
However, the counsel appearing for the state of Madhya Pradesh submitted that fake Remdesivir injections were found in his possession and that this had resulted in several deaths.
Earlier, the court had said, "That apart, we are of the view that in the facts and circumstances of the present case, the petitioner should be enlarged on bail at this stage."
